What is considered a Home of Spanish Explorer Hernando de Soto, the Pittsburgh Pirates, and Snooty the Manatee?

It can only be Bradenton, Florida! You too can live a wonderful life in Bradenton!

It is thought to be the first Landing Site of Spaniard Hernando de Soto in the early 1500s as he explored the New World in search of Wealth and Fame. Today, the Baseball Team - Pittsburgh Pirates - use McKechnie Field in Bradenton to garner Spring Training time as they warm up for real play in the Major Leagues! Let's not forget about our favorite mascot and children's best pal everywhere: Snooty the Manatee! Snooty turned 66 this year (in July) and entertains visitors at his home in the South Florida Museum, Bishop Planeterium and Parker Manatee Aquarium in Bradenton. He is the first manatee born in captivity and has lived a life of luxury since that very first important day in Miami.

Want to live in the area where Hernando de Soto landed? Try the De Soto National Park location. See these Homes! Other Historic points in Bradenton include the Gamble Plantation Historic Site in Ellenton and the Madira Bickel Mound in Terra Ceia Bay

Are you Athletically Inclined or a Bench-Seat Pitcher? You can live near the Spring Training spot of McKechnie Field! Do you prefer to be more involved in the action? GT Bray Park is the place to step into the spotlight with your kids and the neighbors! Living nearby will insure that you can get there any time, day or night!

Prefer a more Cultural Approach to Life? Snuggle up with Snooty and the Arts in these Homes... Also, the urbane and original Village of the Arts created by Locally Owned, Locally Grown Artists is open to Visitors, Shoppers and Perusers most days and nights. There are also homes/studios available for sale here.

There are five distinct Cities and one Town within Manatee County: Bradenton, Bradenton Beach, Anna Maria, Holmes Beach and Palmetto; and Longboat Key.

Cortez, Ellenton, Oneco, Parrish, Myakka City, Old Myakka, Cedar Hammock, Lakewood Ranch, Lake Manatee, Tara, Terra Ceia Bay, Palma Sola Bay and Snead Island are all areas of high popularity and growth in Manatee County, but not separate towns or cities.
