You've seen those signs all over town. I bet you wonder who stomps them into the medians, near the sidewalks, but most of all... who really ACTUALLY pays good money for nasty property, don't you?
Well it shouldn't be YOU selling YOUR property for less! Here's a list of fixes that WON'T break the bank, but WILL add value AND $$$ to YOUR wallet in the end, not the sign poster!
How To Sell An Ugly House
In the VERY LEAST, you can employ elbow grease! Clean, cut & trim the lawn and landscape. Scrape peeling paint from the house. Make sure that the door handle and lock work (for looks AND security!).
If there are broken windows which are not in your budget, board them up to prevent break-ins. May I suggest that you don't just slap a piece of plywood over the entire frame? Cut the plywood to fit INSIDE the window frame. Camouflage its appearance by painting it the color of the house.
Clean the interior of the house! Remove left over furniture, trash, etc. Waste Management has a great deal of bulk removal, but check with your city or county for their procedures also. Many are "free" as paid by your taxes! The less work the Buyer sees him/herself doing, the more money they'll offer.
Be prepared to negotiate, but remember... It's about Price, Terms and Closing Date basically. You don't have to concede on all three!
