There is no other area quite like Siesta Key when it comes to Peace and Tranquility. This Key has been attracting fortunate Retirees from the cold, frigid regions across the Northern Border of America since Chicago Socialite Bertha Potter Palmer and the Ringling Circus Family of the 1920s!
Search for YOUR spot in the sun!
The Beauty of the Key & its many Waterfront Points is choosing between Bay, Canal, Beach or Gulf Views! The Village offers everything you could want without leaving the Key any time soon… Grocery, Gas, Pharmacy, Post Office, Retail, Restaurants and Entertainment.
Prefer a closer Community? Try one of the many Low-Rise or High-Rise Towers on the Beach or Canal Waterways.
Some of the Quaint Charm of Siesta Key can be found during the Annual Party - Siesta Fiesta in April!
Of course, it wouldn't be a true Siesta Key Day without being rated a Number One Beach in the country by the expert himself, Dr. Steven Leatherman aka Dr. Beach! Sarasota County makes great effort to bring an amazing resource to Residents and Visitors alike, providing a large Food Pavilion, clean Restrooms, a selection of Outdoor Showers, Picnic Tables and Grills, and Children's Playground.
We celebrate the Spring in true Sandy-Style by hosting the annual Crystal Classic Master Sandsculpting Contest on the beach. One year, a TV film crew shot footage while they "blew up" the sculptures afterward (with permission naturally!).
The Locals gather every Sunday Evening for the increasingly popular Drum Circle: A casual event drawing Drummers, Dancers, Singers, Musicians and hundreds (sometimes thousands) of Onlookers. With the rising interest in the area from National and International people, you never know WHO's going to show or WHAT's going to happen at the Beach!
While the Parking Lot is undergoing reconstruction, there are many options available to get you there with all of your gear. Sarasota County Area Transit has two separate routes (10 & 11, 7 Days) running from the Sarasota Pavilion Shopping Mall, across the South Bridge, past the Beach, into the Village, across the North and stopping at the Westfield Southgate Mall before turning around and reversing the journey. Rides are inexpensive: just $1.25 for Adult Fare with discounts for children, students, the Disabled and the Elderly. Even the Bus is Beach-Style!
